I am a Yogi (and what it means)

2.1K

I am a Yogi and what it means.

There are four paths of Yoga. They do not represent different paths. Each path is closely related to the other.

  • When we think of God and are full of love for our fellow humans and for nature, we are Bhakti Yogis.
  • When we stand by others and help, we are Karma Yogis.
  • When we meditate and perform yoga practices, we are Raja Yogis (this is also known as the eight-limbed path, of which only one limb includes asana or exercise, often misunderstood to be all that is Yoga)
  • When we reflect upon the meaning of life and are explorers seeking truth and reality, we are Gyana Yogis.

In our modern daily life we are mostly a combination of all four paths. Expressed in how we think, how we act and how we move. Some days we are more of one, or more of another. Some days we are none.

In the modern world, which is rapidly gaining levels of consciousness, many many of us are yogis. Most are unaware of it; what it means; or what other tools are available to them from this system called Yoga. Often more information falling under the term is avoided due to the misunderstood connection to only a physical exercise.

Today we are blessed to have so many tools and ways to explore so many things. Old and new. All which aid and accelerate the expansion of self, through this magnificent journey called life.

I am a Yogi.
